Marty Burlsworth is available to appear at special events as his schedule allows. Now, more than ever, with the success of GREATER, he enjoys meeting the fans of his brother Brandon and encouraging others to “Do it the Burls Way”.

Marty is an engaging speaker who presents a strong message of character, commitment, hard work and dedication that resonates with young and old alike. Most of us have been told “you’re not good enough” at some point in our lives. Mr. Burlsworth says “it’s how we handle these struggles that determine our success”. A deep dedication to our nation’s youth is high on the priority list of the Burlsworth family. Speaking to school children of all ages is something Marty has a strong commitment to. Marty’s wife Vickie will join him at times for these school sessions. Her love for children is hard to escape.

On May 11th in Rogers, and May 18th in Bryant, I invite you to join me for the Brandon Burlsworth Memorial Classic. The Brandon Burlsworth Foundation founded the golf clas- sic following the tragic accident that took the life of my brother Brandon. The funds raised through the tournaments established the Burlsworth scholars at the University of Arkansas. Each year, up to nineteen students receive an academic scholarship from the endowment funded by the generosity of Brandon’s supporters and fans.

Two years ago, the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation brought back the golf classic to fund the continuing work of the Foundation. Over the past decade, the Brandon Burlsworth Founda- tion has established football camps, scholarships for high school students, and the statewide acclaimed “Eyes of a Champion” program, providing free eye exams and eyewear for stu- dents in all 75 Arkansas counties. This program, now in its eighth year, has provided over 5,000 students with the eyeglasses they need to be successful academically. Our partnership with Wal-Mart has made the “Eyes of the Champion” program possible.

The Foundation has partnered with the Springdale Rotary Club to create the annual Burls- worth Trophy, which goes to the most outstanding NCAA Division 1 football player who began his collegiate career as a walk-on player. This award is recognized nationwide, and Arkansas is now home to one of the most coveted awards in college football.

The Brandon Burlsworth Classic will be a great day of golf with sports fans from across Arkansas joining us. I invite you to be a sponsor of this tournament, which includes a four- person team at either the Lost Springs Golf and Athletic Club in Rogers on May 11, or on May 18 at the Hurricane Creek Golf Course in Bryant. Please return the enclosed tourna- ment form.

Your support of the Brandon Burlsworth Classic will provide academic scholarships and other programs to students from throughout Arkansas.

Thank you for supporting the Brandon Burlsworth Memorial Classic.

Launch a fundraiser with your friends and family to help the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation impact children in a positive, uplifting way. Get your friends involved and raise money for the cause.

Why not give up and ask for donations instead? Start a Birthday Fundraiser and make this year special by celebrating your birthday AND a great cause at the same time.

Coach, get the whole team involved to help further the impact of the BBF! If you’re not a member of a team, why not start one of your own? Creating a team page is a great way to get your entire team to take action and make a difference.

Whether you’re running a marathon, cycling or anything in between, use your next event to raise funds and awareness for a cause you care about.

Play a video game, shave your head, go skydiving! Do your thing, just do it for a cause. Go ahead. Get creative and get people to donate to the BBF while you reach your creative goal!

In honor of or in memory of is a caring way to recognize or remember a special person while at the same time helping others.
